Technical Approach

Design and Implementation
  • Used my 15 years as a professional photographer to create a multimedia project to teach basic composition in photography.
  • Incorporated photographs that I have taken while working for the Associated Press, The Boston Herald and a college newspaper into the site.
  • Browsed the Web looking at sites with photography content. I incorporated many concepts from sites concentrating on photography.
  • Used books from my collection and local bookstore for definitions and concepts.
  • Implemented project through a Web site.
  • Used Claris Home Page 2.0 for Macintosh to create HTML pages. Home Page 2.0 does not support Java. Now use FrontPage.
  • Used Netscape Communicator 4.03 as Web browser of choice. Did some limited testing with Explorer 3.02. Now IE on Windows.
  • All photographs scanned in using Kodak RFS 2035 Plus film scanner and slightly manipulated using Photoshop 3.05. Saved as 72 DPI JPEGs. Now use Canon 20D digital SLR and Canon Powershot SD400 point and shoot digital camera.
  • Sketches of photographs created in Canvas 3.06 for the Macintosh and then brought into Photoshop and saved as a GIF. Now use Photoshop Elements 3.0.
